MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas to host UFC 168 between Weidman & Silva

As informed by www.play-casino-online.co.uk, the anticipated UFC 168 rematch between Weidman & Silva will feature both fighters in Las Vegas on their battler for the middleweight title. The event, which will be held on December 28 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, has already been labelled as one of the most important in UFC‘s history.

Current champion Chris Weidman will be defending his crown against former title holder Anderson Silva. Both fighters met last July on the ring in a fight that saw Weidman snatching away the title from Silva’s hands.

During the UFC 32 press conference after the fight, Dana White, UFC President, confirmed the awaited news; “Anderson is going to fight Chris Weidman on December, 28 in Las Vegas and it will be the biggest fight we have ever done.”

White also confirmed that the gate is already at like $5.6 million, meaning that this will be one of the most important events in the promotion’s 20 years of history. The event is also expected to make a huge pay-per-view.

The organization revealed that the winner of the rematch will fight Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort, who on November 9 defeated Dan Henderson at lightweight rematch via first round knockout, becoming the first person to defeat Henderson via strikes.

In historical terms, the largest gate ever was amassed at the Rogers Centre in Toronto on April 30, 2011. That night welterweights George St-Pierre (champion) and Jake Shields met on the ring and garnered a record $12.07 million gate.

UFC168 event will also see women’s bantamweight championship fight between champion Ronda Rousey and former Strikeforce titleholder Miesha Tate, being this another of the highlight of a very much awaited fighting night in Las Vegas.
