Wranglers Take Down Grizzlies, 4-1
The Las Vegas Wranglers
opened a four-game series against the Utah Grizzlies with a 4-1 win tonight, setting the stage for a rematch tomorrow night before two remaining games on the road (Pictured: Wranglers right wing Sean Wiles celebrates his second goal of the night – Photo credit: John Bosworth)

Just 42 seconds into the game, Wranglers right wing Sean Wiles scored on Grizzlies goaltender Grant Rollheiser to put Las Vegas up 1-0. Less than five minutes later, Wranglers center Eric Lampe put the Grizzlies in a two-goal deficit with his 14th goal of the season. Utah was quick to respond, and Grizzlies forward Colin Vock cut the Wranglers lead in half 8:13 into the first.

The 2-1 score held into the second, when Wiles tallied his second goal of the night on a Wranglers power play for a 3-1 advantage midway through the period. A final goal from Wranglers left wing Josh Lunden in the final five minutes of the game secured the 4-1 win for Las Vegas, with goaltender Joe Fallon stopping 29 of Utah’s 30 shots in the victory.

The Wranglers play three more games against the Grizzlies with the last home match being Sunday, Jan. 6, at 2:05 p.m. Dora the Explorer will make a special appearance at both games, and fans can skate with the Wranglers after Sunday’s game with rental skates provided at no additional charge. The team then plays two games in Utah on Friday, Jan. 11, and Saturday, Jan. 12.

Tonight’s full box score can be found here.
