Five-time GRAMMY award winner and country music megastar Wynonna and her rockin’ new band, The Big Noise, will perform at The Club inside Cannery Casino May 12, 2012 at 8 p.m.
Wynonna has always been one of the more fascinating stories in country music. She rose to fame with the hits “Mama He’s Crazy,” “Why Not Me” and “Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout the Good Old Days)” as she performed with her mother Naomi, as one half of the legendary duo The Judds. In addition to multiple GRAMMY awards, the two picked up Country Music Association (CMA) and Academy of Country Music (ACM) awards while selling more than 20 million albums.
After Naomi was diagnosed with Hepatitis C, The Judds embarked on a farewell tour in 1991. This would eventually give Wynonna the opportunity to concentrate on her solo career. Over the coming years her hits would include “No One Else On Earth,” “To Be Loved By You,” “Tell Me Why,” “What The World Needs Now,” “She Is His Only Need,” “I Can Only Imagine” and “I Want To Know What Love Is.”
In 1994, Wynonna received the Top Female Vocalist of the Year award at the ACM awards and was labeled “… the greatest female country singer since Patsy Cline” by Rolling Stone Magazine. To date, Wynonna has released seven solo albums. Wynonna’s 2005 memoir Coming Home To Myself made her a New York Times bestselling author. Her latest work is the fictional book based on an aspiring country singer overcoming obstacles entitled Restless Heart.
