Celebrating his 40th year in comedy, funny man David Brenner is back on the road with a new national comedy tour, Leave ‘em Laughing (A life’s journey from birth up to about five minutes ago), which comes to the Suncoast Showroom June 5, 6 and 7.

Brenner developed the Leave ‘em Laughing tour on the notion that laughter is recession-proof and one of the strongest forces to fight it. The new show is a mural of Brenner’s life, a journey from the poverty-stricken slums of his childhood in Philadelphia to the pinnacle of success. Brenner paints his life story with a “best of the best” of his comedy jokes and routines that have brought sidesplitting laughter to audiences around the country over the past four decades.

In a celebrity career that includes 158 guest appearances on The Tonight Show the most by one person in the history of the show –Brenner has continued to be the most frequent talk show guest of any entertainer. Known for basing his routine on current events, Brenner is recognized as a political pundit, with regular appearances on MSNBC, CNN and Fox News.

Brenner has four HBO specials to his credit, including David Brenner: Back With A Vengeance, which was one of the cable network’s highest-rated specials. The Hollywood Reporter proclaimed of Brenner’s performance, “He’s edgier and more insightful in his skewering of popular culture than ever before.”

Prior to stepping on stage, Brenner wrote, produced and directed 115 television documentaries, which earned him nearly 30 awards, including an Emmy. He’s authored numerous books, including the best seller “Soft Pretzels With Mustard.” A multi-talented performer who first used humor as a negotiating tool as a gang leader on the streets of Philadelphia, Brenner went on to graduate with honors from Temple University and continues to fulfill his career goal, “…to make as many people laugh, as heartily as they can, for as long as I can.”

Tickets are now available from $19.95, plus tax. Showtime is 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Box Office at 702.636.7075 or visiting
