July 22, 2011 by

Serving as a springboard for many of tomorrow’s top filmmakers, the third annual Vegas Cine Fest will be held at the all-new Tropicana Las Vegas resort and casino August 25-27. The festival will feature premiere screenings, Q&A sessions and themed after-parties at Club Nikki. The three-day event will conclude with a Gala Awards Ceremony, with awards presented to winners in the Feature Film, Featurette, Film Shorts, Screenplay and Music Video categories.

“We are thrilled to be hosting Vegas Cine Fest. This partnership is the perfect opportunity to realize our goal of bringing cultural entertainment to Las Vegas, and we look forward to introducing the international film industry to Tropicana’s all-new South Beach vibe,” said Tom McCartney, President and COO of Tropicana Las Vegas.

“With the exciting new look and feel of Tropicana Las Vegas, we thought that it would be the ideal location to hold Vegas Cine Fest. Its redesign has made it into the hip, Las Vegas Strip setting we were searching for, a/nd we are excited about our new partnership with Tropicana Las Vegas,” said Phillip Marcus, Executive Director of Vegas Cine Fest.

About the Vegas Cine Fest
Vegas Cine Fest was founded in 2009 by Executive Director Philip Marcus and President Maria Bautista Marcus. Vegas Cine Fest is a non-profit organization which has been developing a reputation as one of the few film festival contests that provide the assistance needed to produce the projects of writers and filmmakers. Vegas Cine Fest shares the visions and experiences of a select group of producers, directors and writers that have spent years in the trenches of story development and production earning high acclaim and developing a keen ability for filmmaking. Serving on the Advisory Board is Producer Michel Shane (Catch Me If You Can, I-Robot), Paris-based Writer/Director Edouard Molinaro (Oscar Nominated for La Cage Aux Folles), Producer Marvin Lipschultz (Jan & Dean China Tour and “Glitz” at the Copacabana Room in the Sands Hotel), Noah Hutton (Director, More to Live For, Crude Independence) and Sita Kaulesar Sukul (Former COO of Seattle International Film Festival).

The Vegas Cine Fest, a non-profit organization, bridges the gap between Indie Filmmakers and Major Studios. The Festival Advisory Board includes members from the US, Canada, UK, and France. More than just a Film Festival, the Vegas Cine Fest is an event showcasing top production vendors of the film industry.
