Mark O’Toole’s CD ‘The Crooner’ Release Debuts with Performance at M Resort June 28
Mark O’Toole
will debut his CD “The Crooner” on stage with his seven-piece band and background singers in the Ravello Room at the M Resort on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at 6:30 p.m.

As part of the evening, a two-camera shoot is planned along with a meet-and-greet after the performance. The show is open to the public and there’s no cover charge.

“The Crooner” was produced by Grammy winner Keith Olsen, one of America’s great record producers, who has had success with such artists as Fleetwood Mac, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Kim Carnes, Eddie Money, Whitesnake, Rick Springfield, REO Speedwagon, Starship, .38 Special, Santana, and Pat Benatar to name a few. Olsen and O’Toole made the 13-track CD at the Palms Studio. The quality of O’Toole’s powerful voice is ideally suited for the songs of the Great American Songbook and Les Brown Jr.’s Band of Renown provides the instrumental backing for the album.

O’Toole’s love of performing began early in life with leading roles in The Boston Children’s Theatre. After several years of guitar lessons, he discovered singing and started his first band at age 16. He worked with many celebrities for two seasons at the South Shore Music Theatre in Cohasset, Mass.

O’Toole’s first exposure to the national limelight came from his dead-on impression of a matronly grandmother. As a favor, he would call his friend, a DJ on WVBF-FM in Boston, and pretend to be his friend’s grandmother. As fate would have it, Jay Thomas, a regular on “Cheers” and “Murphy Brown” heard O’Toole and asked him to be a regular on his radio show in Hollywood.

O’Toole, in character, interviewed the likes of William Shatner, Geraldo Rivera, Woody Harrelson and others. Over the next three years, O’Toole became syndicated in more than 20 major radio stations nationwide.

However, O’Toole missed singing and moved to Las Vegas. Meanwhile, he appeared on “Star Search,” where his rendition of Conway Twitty’s “It’s Only Make Believe” beat out a five-time winner and judge David Foster gave him four stars. The victory and further recognition included three consecutive “Best Male Vocalist” honors and made his one of the most sought after country bands in Las Vegas. As country music on the Strip waned, O’Toole and his band switched to the music of the 60s, 70s and 80s.

In July 2007, O’Toole’s life changed forever when he was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer and told he had only weeks to live. After months of intense chemotherapy treatments, he beat cancer and is in full remission. While undergoing treatment, he decided that when he got back on his feet he would immerse himself in the standards, songs that made use of his God-given talents as a vocalist and entertainer.

“The Crooner” will be available for purchase online at, on Amazon and at his shows. The digital version will be available on iTunes and other major digital distributors. O’Toole is represented by Rising Star Entertainment Group, LLC, 2857 Paradise Rd. Suite 2903, Las Vegas, NV. 89109, 512-633-2559.
