Hip-hop artist Rick Ross will bring his explosive energy to the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms Casino Resort 9 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011.
After his fourth major commercial release in July 2010, Teflon Don, Rick Ross has become one of the most sought after hip-hop artists to date. Since the release of his freshman album, Port of Miami, Rick Ross has established himself as a fixture in the urban community.
Teflon Don was a successful follow-up to Deeper Than Rap, which was named the number four top-selling hardcore hip-hop album of 2009 by Interference.com, in the company of releases by Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Lil’ Wayne. Deeper Than Rap got a big jump out of the gate with its first single, “Magnificent” which features John Legend and was produced by J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. “Magnificent” landed on the top five on Billboard’s Hot Rap Tracks chart and on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
With more than two million albums sold, seven top 10 radio hits: “Hustlin,’” “Push It,” “The Boss,” “Magnificent,” “Here I Am,” “Super High,” “BMF (Blowin’ Money Fast)” and three number one albums: Port of Miami, (2006), Trilla (2008) and Deeper Than Rap (2009), Ross’ commercial success has enabled him to convert from a rapper into a brand vehicle.
