Eva Longoria Parker to be Inducted into Madame Tussauds Las Vegas During National Hispanic Heritage Month

October 11, 2010 by

In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, Eva Longoria Parker will be immortalized in wax by Madame Tussauds at her Las Vegas nightclub, Eve, on Wednesday, October 13.

To commemorate this event, the multi-talented philanthropist, producer, and star of ABC-TV’s “Desperate Housewives,” will be in attendance at Eve for a side-by-side, private unveiling of her figure. Following the reveal, Longoria Parker will host Eve Wednesdays, Vegas’ hottest industry night at 10:30 p.m.

“We are thrilled to add Eva Longoria Parker’s figure to our attraction,” said Madame Tussauds Las Vegas General Manager Rosita Chapman. “As one of one of the premiere figures in the entertainment industry, Eva is a beloved performer, philanthropist and spokesperson. She is an outstanding role model to many, especially within the Hispanic charitable community.”

Longoria Parker’s figure will don the original red one-shoulder Carolina Herrera dress she wore to the Alma Awards in 2008. The figure will wear a replica of her Possession wedding band. The original wedding band, designed by Piaget, is adorned with two rows of 80 brilliant-cut diamonds separated by a row of 27 square-cut diamonds.

National Hispanic Heritage Month, observed September 15 through October 15, recognizes and celebrates the important presence of Hispanic Americans in North America. With her induction into Madame Tussauds Las Vegas, Longoria Parker will be recognized for her success, outstanding leadership and strong philanthropic efforts.

As one of the world’s premier supporters of various Hispanic causes, Longoria Parker serves as the national spokesperson for PADRES Contra El Cáncer, a nonprofit organization committed to improving the quality of life for Latino children with cancer and their families, for whom she is a national spokesperson. Additionally, Longoria Parker founded the non-profit organization Eva’s Heroes, which helps developmentally challenged children and young adults between the ages of 14 and 21, integrate and flourish in society. Together with her husband, Longoria Parker has taken an active role in Make-A-Wish France, an organization that grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. She has also taken an active role in helping the earthquake-stricken people of Haiti by acting as spokesperson for the charity aHomeInHaiti.org, which raises funds to build homes in Haiti. She has been named “Philanthropist of the Year” by The Hollywood Reporter, has been accorded the “Cesar Chavez Legacy Award,” the “Community Service Award” by the Mexican American Legal Defense Fund, received the “Medallion of Excellence Award” by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, received the prestigious “El Premio del Oro” award by the Las Vegas Latin Chamber of Commerce, and most recently named a “National Freedom Award Recipient” by the National Civil Rights Museum.

In her role as “Gabrielle Solis” on “Desperate Housewives,” Longoria Parker stars in one of TV’s true mega hits, which is seen in the U.S. alone by 30 million viewers weekly and is broadcast in 208 countries. In addition to creating her own production company, Longoria Parker is an all-around entrepreneur, operating several popular upscale restaurants and clubs in Los Angeles and Las Vegas and investing in diverse business projects, such as The Greenville Project, to promote eco-friendly retail marketplaces, her own fragrance, Eva, by Eva Longoria, and a cookbook Eva’s Kitchen which comes out next spring.

Eve, located in Crystals at City Center, is situated directly above Longoria Parker’s celebrated steakhouse, Beso, which was recently named ‘Best New Restaurant’ by the Las Vegas Review Journal annual readers’ poll. Upon entering the opulent nightspot, Eve envelopes guests in ultimate luxury with lavish VIP booths, floor-to-ceiling windows and 50-foot-tall arched ceilings to accentuate the glamorous interior. One-of-a kind colossal video screens surrounding the dance floor are a striking, state-of-the art feature unique to Eve alone. Renowned DJs and a premium sound and lighting system make Eve the ultimate nightclub to dance the night away.

Located at 3720 Las Vegas Boulevard South, at the entrance at The Park across from ARIA Resort &Casino at City Center, Eve is open Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 10:30 p.m. For more information, visit the website at www.evethenightclub.com.

More than 100 world-famous figures, each costing an average of $300,000 to create, are featured at the unique Madame Tussauds wax attraction at any one time, in various themed areas. To keep the offerings “fresh,” the attraction’s designers regularly spotlight new and exciting exhibits. Among Madame Tussauds Las Vegas’ recently debut figures in Las Vegas were Gwen Stefani, Chuck Liddell, Snoop Dogg, and President Barack Obama and the “Oval Office Experience.”
