MAGIC’s FN Platform Shows Strong Strides for Sophomore Event

The footwear industry’s finest will be on display again this summer in record numbers. Showing tremendous growth and excitement since its February 2010 launch, FN PLATFORM will welcome a 30 percent increase in exhibiting brands. In its second outing, FN PLATFORM at the MAGIC Marketplace is poised to become the largest and most diverse collection of branded footwear in North America, with more than 1,000 brands from women’s, men’s, juniors and children’s footwear.

“We were very committed to creating a comprehensive shopping experience for the footwear customer with the launch of FN PLATFORM and given its incredible debut, we feel we have addressed the industry’s needs and growth like no other,” said Chris DeMoulin, MAGIC International President and Executive Vice President of Advanstar’s Fashion Group. “We are looking forward to more growth and immeasurable potential in this market, both on the show floor and off.”

A diverse array of product representing everyone from Robert Clergerie and Marc Jacobs to Geox, Hunter Boots and Stride Rite will gather under one roof where buyers and industry decision-makers can view footwear efficiently within the context of the larger apparel marketplace. The floor’s format, comprised of themed lounges and custom-packaged booths, lends itself to maximizing the experience for both retailers and exhibitors, and ensures that the focus is on product first and foremost. FN PLATFORM is comprised of five distinct areas: Cosmo (women’s fashion footwear), Camp (athleisure, lifestyle casual), Bond (men’s collections), Zen (men’s and women’s euro-comfort), and InPlay (junior’s, fast-fashion and children’s).

This show’s festivities will include celebrity appearances, a historic retrospective of Robert Clergerie collections, as well as an opening night interactive party with professional poker lessons, arcade games, food and drink. FN PLATFORM is a joint venture of Advanstar Communicatons, Fairchild Fashion Group and Footwear News, and debuted in February with more than 500 brands and 65,000 square feet of space, under the direction of Leslie Gallin, Vice President, Footwear for Advanstar’s Fashion Group.
