
Large crowds are expected in Las Vegas this New Year’s Eve, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
LVMPD announced Wednesday that they expect about 300,000 people to celebrate New Year’s Eve on the Las Vegas Strip.
Las Vegas police also announced said the department will have about 1,200 officers spread throughout the Strip with 200 police downtown, during a Wednesday press conference.
Las Vegas Boulevard will be closed from Mandalay Bay to Spring Mountain Road during New Year’s Eve. Road closures will start at 6 p.m. and The Strip is expected to be fully closed to vehicle traffic starting at 8 p.m.
Police also reminded visitors that strollers, backpacks, and glass bottles are prohibited on The Strip during New Year’s Eve.
