Broadway in the HOOD, in partnership with The LGBTQ+ Center of Southern Nevada, is thrilled to present the critically acclaimed, Broadway play, American Son, free and open to the public in honor of the 4th of July weekend 2021.
American Son, the riveting Broadway play adapted into a Netflix Television Event, is an explosive drama that examines our nation’s racial divide through the eyes of a separated couple struggling to get answers about the whereabouts of their son who may have been picked up by their local police.
This nail-biting story takes place in real-time in the waiting room of a police station over the course of one evening where the couple’s contrasting backgrounds collide as they confront an unexpected crisis involving their son, the police, and an abandoned car.
