The Las Vegas City Council and Ward 1 Councilman Brian Knudsen will partner with Get Outdoors Nevada to host a park cleanup and to unveil a new playground at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Rainbow Family Park, 7151 W. Oakey Blvd.
The cleanup will follow safety precautions, including social distancing, and face coverings will be required. Councilman Knudsen has been working with Get Outdoors Nevada to identify parks and trails in Ward 1 that need cleaning to ensure that they are ready for use.
The new playground features a large “Playbooster” structure with eight ground-level components and seven elevated components for children to explore. Climbing areas, slides and platforms, swings and adaptive recreation features are a part of the playground.
The playground also utilizes a rubber play surface that mimics the look of tree mulch and creates a soft surface for children.
