If you’re worried about crime, you should feel safer in Henderson.
The City of Henderson received the honor of being ranked the second safest large city in the United States, according to a recent study by the website MoneyGeek.
The study determined the ranking by analyzing crime in 303 cities with populations over 100,000 or more. The site considered violent crime data, including murder and assault, as well as property crimes such as home burglary and motor vehicle theft.
The site ranked each city based on the cost of crime per capita.
MoneyGeek found the safest and most dangerous cities in America and estimated the societal cost of crime in these cities to be $176 billion in 2019.
The City of Henderson credited community support for helping keep the city safe.
“Community support is vital to our success,” said Henderson Chief of Police Thedrick Andres. “Our partnerships in the community, support from the City officials and dedicated officers and
staff allows the City of Henderson Police Department to provide superior service to our citizens.”
Raleigh, NC ranked as the safest large city in America., and Henderson was followed by Anaheim, CA, Honolulu, HI, and Mesa, AZ as the top five safest large cities, which were designated as having a population of 300,000 or more.
