Fremont’s New Circa Resort & Casino is Slated to Open October 28 by Jennifer Durnell

The first new ground-up casino downtown Las Vegas has seen in 40 years, Circa is now taking online reservations in anticipation of their October 28 opening.

The 1.25 million-square-foot venue will only allow patrons who are 21 and older – making it the first casino to ban underage guests.

The resort will feature a two-story casino, 777 hotel rooms, 1,350 slot machines, 49 table games, Stadium Swim, a “multi-level destination pool amphitheater,” two spas, a massive screen to air sporting events, and a 1,000-person capacity sportsbook, that claims to be the largest in the world.

Circa’s eclectic restaurant lineup has something for everyone. Saginaw’s Delicatessen, a family-style deli serving sandwiches  “so big, you’ll need two hands to eat them.” Barry’s Downtown Prime, a steakhouse that will transport you into the classic cool era of Mad Men (without the sexism). Victory Burger and Wings, an all-star sports bar experience. Project BBQ Fremont Street’s only permanent food truck, and  8 East, inspired by metropolitan Asian food markets, they will serve an array of Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, and Thai dishes.

Hotel rooms will be designed with “vintage details combined with high-tech amenities to create an experience that’s uniquely Circa,” according to CEO & Developer, Derek Stevens, who also owns the D Las Vegas and the Golden Gate downtown.

They will feature curated artwork and streamlined modern amenities such as digital tablets, where guests can customize the room’s light settings, access restaurant menus, and make sportsbook reservations..

The first exterior sign bearing the resort’s name debuted earlier this week.

“This is a truly momentous day for this project,” said Stevens. “The sign raising is not only a big step for Circa, but a symbol of moving forward for Las Vegas. All things considered in 2020, it is great to have days like this that bring hope and excitement for the future. We are less than 100 days away from Circa’s opening and to see its name in this size and scale is incredible.”

The sign took nearly four weeks to construct, and will take three-days to install. It weighs six tons and stands over 34 feet high. Letters on the sign are illuminated with more than 3,000 LED lights.

The hotel is currently accepting reservations for hotel rooms, sportsbook, and Stadium Swim. Lean more at
