Last Friday chef challenge heats up historic Water Street in Downtown Henderson, Friday, May 31. Attendees will enjoy street-side entertainment, food vendors, retail pop-ups, live music and more from 6-10 p.m. and have a chance to cheer on some of Las Vegas’s most adored, local chef talent vying to claim victory (Pictured: Lanny Chin of Greene St. Kitchen).
Situated on the main stage of the amphitheater of City Hall in Henderson, the chef challenge will consist of two area chefs who will be provided proteins furnished by Mikuni Harvest. They’ll then have to create two plates in less than 45 minutes.
The two competitors set to go head-to-head are pitmaster and smokin’ grill mason Steve Overlay of Sin City Smokers versus the mean streets of Greene St. Kitchen, Lanny Chin, recent competitor of the Food Network’s CHOPPED, hailing from the brand new PALMS Casino Resort.
Headlining as host for this month’s chef challenge will be emcee TC Martin of Fox Sports Radio’s “TC Martin Show.”
What would a cooking competition be without a stellar lineup of local fixtures and culinary advocates that will have a front row seat to the action? Rounding out the judges’ table this month is Las Vegas Weekly and Vegas Inc. 2019 “40 Under 40” inductee Christina Ellis, Director of Marketing for Ellis Island Hotel & Brewery; joined by two other local Las Vegas influential figures.
