Latin Grammy Award-nominated música urbana duo, Alexis y Fido, with special guests Fulanito and Diego Val, will take over M Pool as part of M Resort Spa Casino’s concert series on Aug. 31.
Most recently known for their collaboration with Bad Bunny on the hit “Tócate Tu Misma,” Alexis y Fido are a reggaeton duo from Puerto Rico. Their 2005 debut album, The Pitbulls, debuted at the no. 2 spot on Billboard’s Top Heatseekers and Latin Rhythm charts and at the no. 1 spot on the Top Latin Albums chart, eventually reaching gold status with more than 200,000 copies sold worldwide. Since then, multiple records have been nominated for awards, including Sobrenatural in 2008 for Album Urbano, “Energia” in 2012 for Canión Urbana, and “Rompe La Cintura” in 2013 for Interpretación Urbana.
Prior to Alexis y Fido’s performance, Fulanito will bring their mix of Dominican merengue, salsa, and hip hop to M Pool. Formed in 1996 by Rafael Vargas and Winston Rosa, their first album, El Hombre Mas Famoso De La Tierra, gained international fame with hit singles “Guallando,” “El Cepillo,” and “La Novela,” eventually selling more than 500,000 copies worldwide. Furthermore, their second album, El Padrino, led to additional acclaim and their first Grammy nomination.
To kick off the evening, Latin pop singer Diego Val will take the stage. A finalist on NBC’s The Voice in 2015, Val made a name for himself when he belted out his rendition of “Animal” by Neon Trees, earning a spot on Cee Lo Green’s team. Since then, he’s toured with Maroon 5, Colombian singer Maluma, and starred in Peruvian soap opera “La Tayson, Corazón Rebelde.” Val has been busy making new music, and in addition to his popular single, “Once,” fans can expect a new record to drop later this month.
Doors open at 6 p.m. on Aug. 31 with a live DJ set beginning at that time, and Diego Val performing at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $27, plus applicable L.E.T. and facilities fees, and are on sale now.
