Russ Freeman & The Rippingtons was formed in 1985, impressing fans with their innovative contemporary jazz music. Throughout the group’s more than 30-year career, Russ Freeman & The Rippingtons have released 22 albums, all of which have attained top five Billboard status, with five of them reaching No. 1 on the charts.

The band has recorded with several well-known artists, including Arturo Sandoval, Jeffrey Osbourne, Kirk Whalum, Kenny G, Dave Grusin, the late Joe Sample and more. Russ Freeman & The Rippingtons have also received numerous awards, as well as a Grammy Award nomination.

Jonathan Butler

South African singer-songwriter and guitarist Jonathan Butler began his singing career at the age of seven, releasing his first album in 1973. At the age of 12, Butler won a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in South Africa, and later earned three gold records in 1975. More than a decade later, Butler moved to London, England, releasing his first international self-titled album that went Gold in 1987 that includes his celebrated hits “Lies” and “Going Home.”

Throughout his musical career, Butler has enjoyed major success, earning several Gold albums and a songwriter award for his material. Butler continues to captivate his audiences with his powerful vocals and soulful hits like “More Than Friends,” “Sarah, Sarah,” “There’s One Born Every Minute” and “Take Good Care of Me.”

Blue Öyster Cult

For more than four decades, hard rock heavy metal band Blue Öyster Cult has been thrilling fans with their classic hits, including “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper,” “Godzilla” and “Burnin’ for You.”

Since debuting their self-titled album in 1972, Blue Öyster Cult has sold more than 24 million albums worldwide, including four gold and one platinum release. The celebrated band has also been cited as a major influence on other iconic rock acts like Metallica and was listed in VH1’s countdown of the greatest hard rock bands of all time.

The band’s current lineup includes Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser, vocalist and lead guitarist; Eric Bloom, vocalist and rhythm guitarist; Richie Castellano, guitarist and keyboardist; Danny Miranda, rhythm section bass guitarist; and Jules Radino, drummer.

Aliante’s Sock Hop will bring guests back to the 1950s with free live entertainment and dancing, happening on Tuesdays in March from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.
