“After months of planning, it was bloody exciting to welcome the cast of OPIUM to The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas today,” said Harry M. Howie, veteran Australian theatrical promoter, numerologist and freelance newspaper columnist. “They have been picking up the same cosmic messages I have been following and today’s event marks the beginning of a creative process where we hope to make Las Vegas’ most Las Veg-iest show.” Howie has been the public spokesperson for OPIUM since the project was first announced by Spiegelworld in December.

One of the artists answering Harry M. Howie’s call was internationally-renowned costume designer Machine Dazzle, who created the costumes for today’s arrival ceremony, which surprised guests on The Cosmopolitan’s casino floor.

“I told Mr. Dazzle I wanted to create a press event that would rival anything that South Korea may cobble together for tomorrow’s 2018 Winter Olympics opening ceremony. And he delivered. Who would have thought you could do so much with a car trunk full of cardboard, shower curtains and 3000 plastic spoons?”

WHAT IS OPIUM?

Journey on a trip to a new dimension of entertainment with OPIUM, the new show at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas from the creators of ABSINTHE. What is OPIUM? It’s fast, funny and funky. Completely off the planet. Remember the good old days when you sauntered into a Las Vegas showroom, martini in hand, while a pack of comedians and crooners bantered in front of the house band? Even if you do, one thing’s for certain: it didn’t look like this. Slip through the crack in the space/time continuum for a close encounter with a spaceship of fools.

  • Spiegelworld (by special arrangement with Harry M. Howie) presents OPIUM at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
  • Preview performances begin March 13, 2018 and tickets are on sale now at Spiegelworld.com or by calling 1-866-973-9611.
  • Save up to $30 on tickets using promo code PRVW while offer lasts.
