At Wednesday morning’s City of Las Vegas Council meeting, Las Vegas Lights Football Club (FC) proudly unveiled its ‘$5 Kick Back’ program, which is a significant charitable initiative expected to generate approximately $250,000 in donated ticket revenues during the club’s 2018 inaugural season (Photo courtesy of S.Savanapridi / City of Las Vegas).
Here is how it works:
1) Non-profit organizations, foundations, youth and adult sports teams, schools and anyone looking to raise funds for a charitable initiative based in Southern Nevada can simply e-mail email@example.com with their name, contact information and charitable cause to set up your Kick Back account.
2) Within 24 hours, Lights FC will send you a unique online promotional code, plus a promotional flyer, for distribution to your supporters. You can then immediately begin your fundraising process, through ticket sales to any Lights FC 2018 home match at Cashman Field via LightsFC.com/SingleTix.
3) Forward your unique promotional code to your supporters, and for every ticket purchased using the code, Lights FC will donate $5 back to your cause. With individual match tickets starting at just $15, that means up to 33% of online ticket sales can be donated back to the local Las Vegas community.
“We love Las Vegas, and Lights FC wants to support the local residents who support us,” Lights FC Owner & CEO Brett Lashbrook said. “I have always believed that pro teams have a responsibility to be leaders in their communities. That’s why we created this program. We want the fans’ voices to be heard. Fans will tell us what causes are most important to them – regardless of how big or small. We want our fans to know that Lights FC stands alongside them in the community.”
The $5 Kick Back program is open to any charitable cause that commits to spending all of its donated ticket revenue within Southern Nevada. There is no requirement that any of the Lights FC $5 Kick Back charitable causes be a registered 501(c)3 non-profit – the program is open to any individuals with a cause important to themselves (e.g., ranging from a large established non-profit organization with a local chapter to a group of students looking to raise money for an after-school project). A minimum of fifty (50) tickets must be sold to qualify for the $5 Kick Back program and registrants must submit certain documents prior to receiving funds if required by law. The Club conservatively estimates that 2,500 individual match tickets will be sold each match utilizing the $5 Kick Back promotional codes. Extended across a minimum of 20 home matches the program would generate $250,000 in donated ticket revenues.
Single game tickets for Lights FC’s first four home matches – the three Soccer Spring Training MLS preseason contests and the March 24th USL regular season home opener against in-state rival Reno 1868 FC – are now on sale, starting at just $15. Lights FC 2018 season tickets are also still on sale, starting at just $200. Each season ticket purchased includes a free team jersey (valued at $80). Ticket for groups of 10 or more are also now on sale, starting at just $18 per ticket, with each ticket purchased including a free Lights FC scarf (valued at $20). Lights FC, the 33rd team in the USL, will begin preseason play at Cashman Field in February 2018, with a home schedule of 20-plus matches running through at least October 2018. While sharing Cashman Field during the inaugural season with the Las Vegas 51s, the stadium and playing surface will be converted to a fully natural grass playing turf to provide an intimate, authentic soccer environment for each home match.
