More States are Regulating Online Gambling

More States are Regulating Online GamblingWe all know that Vegas is a gambling city and gambling is indeed close to our hearts. But we’re also keeping an eye out for what’s happening outside Nevada, in terms of legislation for gambling online and so on. We do believe that whole U.S will regulate online gambling in time. The government will benefit from it in terms of increased tax revenues.

New Jersey and Pennsylvania Regulations

New Jersey regulated online gambling a few years back and it has had a very positive impact on the state. The tax revenues have increased significantly and the NJ online casinos are helping the Atlantic City casinos to increase their revenues.

Pennsylvania regulated the market by the end of 2017. A very interesting 2018 awaits Pennsylvania to see which of the brick and mortar casinos in the State will apply for a license. There are speculations saying that the high gaming tax of 54% will scare away potential licensees.

Taxes on Online Gambling

As we mentioned above the tax for online slots will be 54%, which for many is very high. The regulators of Pennsylvania put the tax for online gambling on the same level as the brick and mortar casinos in the State.

There is a big difference between the gambling taxes of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. In New Jersey the online gaming tax is 17% which is 37% lower than in Pennsylvania. On the other hand, this tax can be changed in time depending on how the regulators tackle the potential license takers questions and queries.

Rumours saying that the Pennsylvania based online casino Sugarhouse is planning to apply for a license in the Keystone State. We do hope all bigger brick and mortar casinos in PA apply for a license as it will increase the tax revenues in Pennsylvania.
