The Darkness to Perform at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas at The LINQ Promenade March 30, 2018
British glam metal outfit The Darkness is bringing its Tour de Prance to Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas at The Linq Promenade for a performance on Friday, March 30, 2018 at 7 p.m.

The hard rock quartet formed in Suffolk, England, in 2000 and gained extreme international popularity and acclaim with the release of 2003’s “Permission to Land,” highlighted by the infectious and seemingly inescapable single, “I Believe In A Thing Called Love.” Recognizable in great part due to lead singer Justin Hawkins’ (vocals, guitar) soaring falsetto, the driving rhythm of the entire collective is rounded out by brother Dan Hawkins (guitar), Frankie Poullain (bass) and Rufus Tiger Taylor (drums).

“Permission To Land” was followed up in 2005 by “One Way Ticket To Hell…And Back,” which included the To 10 hit “One Way Ticket.” Just a year later, Justin Hawkins left the band, checking into rehab and thus ending the meteoric rise of The Darkness. After successful treatment and Hawkins’ recovery, the band reformed in 2011 and set out on tour with Lady Gaga the following year, also releasing their comeback album “Hot Cakes.”

After the 2015 release of “Last Of Our Kind,” and an unlikely public reprise of “I Believe In A thing Called Love” (thanks to Apple Music and Taylor Swift dancing on a coffee table), The Darkness are set to release their fourth studio album, “Pinewood Smile,” on Oct. 6. The album promises to deliver some of the most sharp-witted, infections and brilliant songs of the band’s catalogue.

In advance of the “Pinewood Smile” announcement, The Darkness have been touring Europe with Guns N’ Roses. The Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas tour stop will be the second on the North American leg of the tour. When Justin Hawkins asked somewhat rhetorically why anyone should care, he mused, typically tongue-in-cheek:

“Because if you don’t, we’re f***ed! History will remember us as the apathetic generation who negligently ushered in a dreadful dystopian age that may or may not come to be known as The Rise of the Arseclowns. We cannot allow this to continue! You may not give a s**t about Brexit or Trump, but PLEASE…give a s**t about The Darkness.”

The Darkness at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas is for ages 18 and up. Venue presale tickets are available Thursday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. PT using password “SMILE.” General admission tickets start at $25 (plus applicable service fees) and are on sale to the public on Friday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m. PT at the Brooklyn Bowl box office, by calling 877.987.6487 or online at
