House of Blues Las Vegas Welcomes Machine Head March 1, 2018
Machine Head
, the GRAMMY-nominated band that is best known as one of the pioneering bands in the new wave of American heavy metal, supports their new tour with a performance at House of Blues Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino on Thursday, March 1, 2018.

Hailing from Oakland, Calif., Machine Head was founded in 1991 after guitarist and vocalist Robb Flynn left his former bands Forbidden and Vio-lence. Flynn has remained a constant force in the band which now consists of drummer Dave McClain, guitarist Phil Demmel and bassist Jared MacEachern. While their music has crossed over multiple genres including groove metal, heavy metal and grunge, Machine Head has remained true to their thrash metal influences and roots.

Busting onto the heavy metal scene with Burn My Eyes in 1991, Machine Head toured relentlessly to support their debut release in Europe originally opening for Slayer, then moving on to revisit the same venues as a headlining act. In 1997, they released The More Things Change… debuting at No. 138 on the Billboard 200, immediately followed by The Burning Red (1999), which debuted at No. 88. After finishing three years of touring, Machine Head released Supercharger (2001) and Europe’s Through the Ashes of Empires (2003).

The 2011 release, Unto the Locust, entered the Billboard 200 chart at position No. 22 – putting them in the Top 25 for the first time in the band’s history. Also in Germany, Unto the Locust marked the band’s highest chart entry of all-time, hitting No. 5 in its first week of sale. The album was the follow-up to the 2007 Grammy Award-nominated metal milestone, The Blackening, widely hailed as one of the finest metal albums of the last decade, which led the band to an extensive three-year tour, sharing the stage with such heavy hitters as Slipknot and Metallica. After another lengthy tour to support Bloodstone & Diamonds (2014), the band was featured in the horror movie “The Devil’s Candy” in 2017 and began writing new material for an upcoming 2018 studio album.
