Michael Kessler and Melinda Jackson of M&M American Dance Theatre, a captivating and gifted husband and wife song and dance team who’ve performed around the world for 30 years, will present “Young People’s Guide to Broadway” on Friday, Oct. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the 284-seat Summerlin Library Performing Arts Center.
Inspired by Leonard Bernstein’s young people’s concert series, Kessler and Jackson, along with Keith Thompson, their renown musical director and composer on piano (musical director “Jersey Boys,” co-composer and musical arranger of “IDAHO, The Comedy Musical” and co-creator/host of hugely popular “The Composers Showcase” monthly at The Smith Center), will present a fun and entertaining show to inspire and educate the next generation of dancers, singers and actors.
“We’re excited to perform for people of all ages to entertain and instruct about the history, creation and appreciation of Broadway and musical theatre,” says Jackson. Kessler added, “We’ll explore a vast collection of iconic Broadway musicals, offer a behind-the-scenes look at industry-secrets and share our insights of how to create original musicals.”
