Tomorrow, May 19, is the last day of the McDonald’s annual IPOF fundraiser that is held each year during National Police Week. Southern Nevada community members have been invited this week to visit select McDonald’s for the fundraising event to benefit the Injured Police Officers Fund.
A portion of the proceeds from all McCafé beverage purchases will go towards the fund in order to provide financial assistance for officers and their families in times of need.
Since Monday, May 15, select McDonald’s restaurants around the Las Vegas Valley have hosted personnel from multiple police jurisdictions including the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Nevada Highway Patrol, Henderson Police Department and the North Las Vegas Police Department who have volunteered their time to visit and greet customers, and address community concerns while raising donations and awareness for the fund.
Following a shooting in North Las Vegas in June of 2014, McDonald’s restaurants throughout Southern Nevada held a one-day fundraiser that resulted in $45,000 worth of donations that benefited the Injured Police Officers Fund and went towards aiding the families of fallen officers Alyn Beck and Igor Soldo, as well as civilian victim Joseph R. Wilcox.
The Injured Police Officers Fund was created to help reduce the financial burden suffered by police officers and their families in the event of an injury or death that occurs in the line of duty.
Local McDonald’s owner-operators are dedicated to providing continued support to valued community partners like the Injured Police Officer’s Fund and are proud to provide support where it is most needed.
Here are the locations that will have officers present on May 19.
