The secret identities of friends, donors and supporters will be revealed at Best Buddies Nevada’s 8th annual Superhero Ball beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, inside the Grand Ballroom at The Mirage Resort & Casino.
The charity gala will feature a cocktail reception, a gourmet dinner, an exclusive silent auction and more as Best Buddies Nevada celebrates the state’s biggest advocates for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Special guests will include honoree Sean McElwee, cast member of A&E’s hit TV show, “Born This Way”; John Carlin, senior director, major gifts & planned giving for Best Buddies International, who will speak on the powerful impact Best Buddies has had in the workplace; and emcees Sean McAllister and Rachel Smith of FOX 5’s “MORE” and “MORE Access.”
Following the dinner, guests will enjoy a special performance by Bella Electric Strings, culminating in a lively after-party that invites all heroes to dance the night away. Best Buddies will welcome guests, sponsors, teachers, students, buddies and more together in celebration and support for the organization, which creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with IDD.
The gala’s theme will be to honor the community leaders who often stay in the shadows, or hide behind masks, but deserve a hero’s recognition for the work that they do for people with IDD. Best Buddies Nevada Superhero Ball is presented by MGM Resorts International with sponsors including Caesars Foundation, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, and the Engelstad Family Foundation.
Guests are encouraged to dress in cocktail attire for the upscale event, although additional capes, masks and themed items are welcomed. Individual tickets start at $325, with sponsorship levels still available. Reservations and more information are available at www.bestbuddies.org/superhero.
