California indie-alt rockers Silversun Pickups will make their Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas debut at The Linq Promenade on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
The quartet from Silver Lake, Calif., Brian Aubert (lead vocals, guitar), Nikki Monninger (vocals, bass), Christopher Guanlao (drums) and Joe Lester (keyboards), was at the forefront of the Silver Lake music scene – home to Rilo Kiley and others – around the release of their debut EP “Pikul.”
The band’s latest record, “Better Nature,” marks their fifth studio release and their second working with acclaimed producer Jacknife Lee (U2, Two Door Cinema Club, Crystal Castles). Auber notes that first-time collaborations are often more tentative. On this, their second go-round – the first on 2012’s “Neck of the Woods” – Silversun Pickups and Lee had a more tangible understanding of what worked.
Doors for Silversun Pickups at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas open at 7 p.m. This show is for ages 18+. Tickets start at $31 (plus applicable service fees) and are on sale to the public on Friday, June. 10 at 10 a.m. at the Brooklyn Bowl box office, by calling 877.987.6487 or online at http://ticketf.ly/1UmBNwQ.
