Las Vegas Monorail Offers $1 Fares for Locals Every Day of the Year
Nevada residents with valid identification can purchase $1 fares for the Las Vegas Monorail every day of the year. For locals looking for a cost-effective and environmentally friendly way to navigate the Strip, there is no better option than the Monorail.

With the addition of the T-Mobile Arena to the Strip’s busy entertainment landscape, the Monorail provides easy transport along the Strip during high-attendance events, all the way from the SLS Las Vegas to MGM Grand.

“We established the $1 local fare to provide another way to conveniently and cost-effectively participate in events and activities that take place in the Strip corridor of our community,” explains Ingrid Reisman, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Las Vegas Monorail. “With awareness of mass transit’s benefits increasing in Southern Nevada, we hope local residents will consider taking the Monorail when visiting the Strip.”

With a stop at the Las Vegas Convention Center, as well as a direct connection to eight properties with more than 26,000 hotel rooms, the Las Vegas Monorail is not only economical, but also the most convenient mode of Strip transport—especially when the city hosts major events. Riding the Monorail allows savvy locals to avoid the Strip’s traffic congestion, especially on weekends and in conjunction with major sports events, concerts and conventions.

The Las Vegas Monorail is Southern Nevada’s mass transit option that has been lowering travelers’ environmental footprint since opening in 2004. In 2015, its zero-emissions trains reduced toxic emissions by 29.6 tons of carbon monoxide (CO), volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and nitrous oxides (NOx) and eliminated more than 2.3 million vehicle miles. The system has carried more than 70 million riders since opening.

Currently, the privately funded Monorail system includes seven stations: MGM Grand; Bally’s/Paris Las Vegas; Flamingo/Caesars Palace; Harrah’s/The LINQ; Las Vegas Convention Center; Westgate Resort & Casino and SLS Las Vegas.
