Inaugural Hydrant “Hangout” Party for Pups and Peeps Oct. 22

Inaugural Hydrant “Hangout” Party for Pups and Peeps Oct. 22
The Hydrant Club
, Las Vegas’ only social club for dogs and people, is launching its inaugural Hydrant HangOut on Thursday, October 22. As a facility that “makes traditional dog care roll over,” The Hydrant Club will be opening its members-only park space to the public for this event – a nightclub inspired gathering for pups and their people – the proceeds of which will go to the Animal Foundation

“In a town known for its nightlife we thought it would be great fun to take advantage of our unique oasis in the middle of downtown and throw one heck of a party, “ said Hydrant Club, Owner and Founder Cathy Brooks. “Barquee at the Marquee went away and left a big hole in the pup party space. So when the opportunity arose to work with the amazing woman who started that event and bring a new gathering to life, I couldn’t say no. Of course we’re putting our own twist on the party and will be making sure that in addition to great fun we are giving back to the community that has welcomed us so warmly.”

An array of sponsors are participating in this event – providing food, beverages and most of all treats and toys for the pup attendees. The sponsors presently include Big Ern’s BBQ, The Dog House, Majesty’s Animal Nutrition, Planet Dog, Primal Pets, Sprinkles Cupcakes, Whole Foods Market, Whole Life Pet Foods, Earthrated Poop Bags and Zignature Pet Food. There is no registration fee, and in addition to the suggested door donation of $10 Hydrant Club will be collecting gently used towels that will be passed along to local rescues and shelters in need.

Founded in 2013 The Hydrant Club’s mission is to help people be the best parents to their pups they can by teaching them how to “speak dog”. In addition to full service daycare, overnight boarding, grooming, retail, and downtown Las Vegas’ largest green space (blanketed with real grass), Brooks and the Hydrant Club team focus heavily on educating people on the importance of stable dog behavior – especially in an urban environment. When she’s not operating the Hydrant Club, Brooks, a former journalist, frequently pens blog posts and articles on topics such as animal nutrition, behavioral traits of dogs and how to best integrate dogs to city living. She also leads seminars and classes on “canine linguistics” teaching everything from behavioral modification to hands-on obedience training.

The Hydrant Club, a canine social club and training academy, offers a 9,500 square-foot outdoor park and adjacent 3,100 square foot indoor space complete with daycare, overnight boarding, bathing facilities, and retail. Located in the heart of downtown Las Vegas, equal parts play space, educational facility and social club, The Hydrant Club is embarking on a mission to evolve the nature of dog care facilities, turning them into places where people go WITH their dogs for social activity, exercise and learning.
