Reckless in Vegas to Perform Alt-Rock Renditions of Rat Pack-Era Classics for Three Free Concerts at Downtown Grand Las Vegas

Reckless in Vegas to Perform Alt-Rock Renditions of Rat Pack-Era Classics for Three Free Concerts at Downtown Grand
Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino
announces a limited engagement by innovative California rockers Reckless In Vegas Oct. 11, 18 and 25.

The first performance will take place at MOB BAR, while the second two concerts will be presented at PICNIC, the property’s urban rooftop pool experience offering stunning views of downtown Las Vegas. All three performances will begin at 8 p.m. and are FREE to the public.

Reckless In Vegas is a power trio comprised of Michael Shapiro on vocals and guitar, Mario Cipollina (formerly of Huey Lewis And The News) on bass and vocals, and Ryan “Dr Fu” Low on drums and vocals. The band has blended the imagery, banter and classic music from the 1960s “glory days” of Vegas with a contemporary rock band aesthetic. They’ve created an exciting show with modern versions of songs by artists such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis, Sonny & Cher, Frankie Valli, Neil Diamond, Johnny Cash, Bobby Darin and more. Whether you remember the swinging Vegas lounge era days or were born later, Reckless In Vegas has something for everyone. Video montages, dialogue, humor, modern hard-rocking grooves and tender moments of balladry combine to create a truly original take on this classic genre. Think The Rat Pack meets Green Day.

Reckless in Vegas was hand-selected by property CEO Seth Schorr, who explains, “This band is a perfect fit for our property. They have taken timeless classics from the mid-20th century—for example, familiar favorites like ‘Luck Be a Lady,’—and, by some ingenious form of alchemy, spun them into something completely different and entirely modern. We know the atmosphere here will make a phenomenal backdrop for these artists.”

In honor of the band’s appearances at Downtown Grand, the award-winning hotel-casino is featuring several “Reckless at Downtown Grand” specials.
