Every day, more than 160,000 children nationwide stay home from school to avoid being bullied. That’s why Nevada PEP is inviting the community to support the cause at its Third Annual Run, Walk, Roll Against Bullying on Saturday, September 27.
Join Carlota from KOMP as the emcee, and welcome Mrs. Nevada-America Lavetta Schneider -Grand Marshall, and Ricardo Laguna a professional BMX rider as a “special guest”. Smoky the Bear, McGruff Crime Dog, Cosmo’s 51’s , Chuck E Cheese, and “Frank” from Kia Chevrolet will be on hand to take pictures.
Registration is easy. Go to Nevada PEP’s website and click on the registration button and follow the prompts. The Run Walk Roll will begin at 8:00 a.m. The 5k run will go around Findlay Chevrolet (6800 S. Torrey Pines Dr.) outlying area. The entry fee is $35 per person, $20 for the 1.5. Fun walk, each registered participant will receive a complimentary T-shirt. Race day registration fee is $40 for 5K race. Race starts at 8:00am.
“Bullying can lead to painful results not only for the youth but for the school, and the whole community. This is a very real and painful issue that our kids are facing,” said Stephanie Vrsnik, Community Development Director at Nevada PEP. “But they don’t have to face it alone, and bullying can be prevented if we all work together.”
