The evening kicked off at Boulevard Pool with The Cosmopolitan’s inaugural Original Margarita Festival as guests spent the night mixing and mingling amidst Mariachi serenades while enjoying unlimited margarita tastings from Las Vegas’ most celebrated mixologists.

At the end of the event, the top three original recipes were given Herradura tequila and a secret ingredient of Bunny Yuzu sake to incorporate into a new recipe in a head-to-head competition. The three specially-curated concoctions were judged by Las Vegas influencers and experts who declared Wayfarer Bar’s Edward Gunn and Trey Picou as the winners, awarding them with an educational trip to Tequila, Mexico. Second place went to CarneVino’s Adam Rains and Jason Reyes while third place, and the People’s Choice award, went to the mixologist team at Boulevard Pool, Nate Prost and Kendra Stephens.

Throughout the resort, a high-energy group formed by eight mariachi performers and six folkloric dancers roamed each day from Friday, Sept. 12 through last night until the midnight hour, entertaining guests and commencing the festivities. At Book & Stage and also throughout the four-day festivities, Mariachi El Bronx, the alter ego of acclaimed punk outfit The Bronx, performed live to a packed crowd each night.

The festivities culminated at The Chandelier as The Cosmopolitan rang in the official Grito Mexicano – a cry of patriotism – through a ceremonial ringing of the bell at midnight, set to a Mexican flag backdrop on stage at The Chandelier. As guests raised their glasses and sang along, Mariachis and dancers surrounded The Chandelier and took the stage as the festivities continued with enthusiastic merriment late into the night.
