WestStar Credit Union Presents 4th Annual FIND A JOB IN VEGAS Job Fair; Over 2,000 Jobs Available

January 8, 2014 by

WestStar Credit Union (WCU), the gaming employees’ credit union, is hosting a job fair to help Las Vegans find jobs in Las Vegas. The “Find a Job in Vegas” job fair will be held at the Mardi Gras Ballroom at The Orleans on January 8, 2014, from 11am to 3pm.

Dan Nogal, Boyd Gaming’s Compensation Director, agreed to donate the ballroom space at The Orleans to host the job fair. Mona Joseph, VP of Business Development with WestStar Credit Union is coordinating the invited companies.

WestStar Credit Union has been serving the Nevada gaming industry since 1975, and is using its connections to bring employers together with the Las Vegas community. Every company invited to the job fair is offered a complimentary booth. The Find a Job in Vegas job fair is unique because all the organizations represented are all seeking traditional full and part time employees. MLMs, start-up opportunities, colleges and trade schools are not invited to this event. Every booth in the Mardi Gras Ballroom represents actual potential for employment.

Members of WestStar Credit Union will have special entry to the job fair via a separate line available to members only. Members can simply present their WestStar ATM or VISA Debit Card to gain special entry, and have less wait time to inquire with potential employers.

“This job fair is truly a win-win for everyone involved, and we’re proud to be hosting this event for the 4th year in a row!” stated Rick Schmidt, President/CEO of WestStar Credit Union. “Everyone is doing their part to help the Las Vegas community get back on its feet, and we hope that this event will help do just that.”

Mona Joseph, VP of Business Development for WestStar Credit Union shared her sentiments on this event, “The Find a Job in Vegas job fair sets an excellent example of how our community works together to help locals find great employment opportunities.”

Membership in WestStar Credit Union is open to anyone employed in the Gaming Industry of Nevada and many other employer groups, including employees and members of AAA Nevada and members of the Friends of Nevada Wilderness conservation group. Family members and those living in the same household of anyone who is eligible are also eligible to join the credit union. A full list of eligible employer groups can be found on their website,
