Enrique Iglesias to Headline Mexican Independence Day Celebration at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
hosts a four-day Mexican Independence Day celebration Sept. 13 – 16, complete with a number of exciting cultural events. 

Continuing the unique resort’s tradition of celebrating Mexican Independence Day for the second year, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas will set the mood with a four-day celebration filled with Mexican festivities. This year’s cultural events include roaming mariachi bands and folkloric dancers, the patriotic “Grito Mexicano” at The Chandelier, a tantalizing concert afterparty at China Poblano, Mariachi El Bronx at Book & Stage, world-renowned DJ Avicii at Marquee Nightclub and two performances by Grammy award-winning Enrique Iglesias at the Boulevard Pool.

“I’m very much looking forward to these upcoming shows in Vegas,” remarks Enrique Iglesias. “Las Vegas crowds are always so full of energy, and I have the honor of getting to play two nights back to back at The Cosmopolitan. It will be a nice break from all the time in the studio lately. See you soon Vegas!”

Tickets to Enrique Iglesias will go on sale Friday, June 21 at 10 a.m. PDT and are available online at www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com or through Ticketmaster at 800.745.3000.  General admission tickets are $95 (plus applicable taxes and service charges).  A limited number of premium cabanas are also available by emailing NightlifeMarketing@cosmopolitanlasvegas.com or by calling 702.698.7778. Enrique Iglesias is an all-ages show. Guests must be 21+ to reserve a cabana.

The Cosmopolitan will also offer premium resort and entertainment packages for purchase including a Terrace Studio Package or a Wraparound Terrace Suite Package Friday or Sunday night available for booking through the resort’s Web site at www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com. The Terrace Studio Package features a one-night stay in a Terrace Studio, VIP check-in, a $50 dining credit, two concert tickets to Enrique Iglesias and early concert access, available for purchase Friday, Sept. 13 or Sunday, Sept. 15. The Wraparound Terrace Suite Package features a one-night stay in a Wraparound Terrace Suite overlooking the Boulevard Pool, VIP check-in, a $100 Dining Credit, two concert tickets to Enrique Iglesias and early concert access, available for purchase on Friday, Sept. 13 or Sunday, Sept. 15. The Sunday Wraparound Terrace Suite Package also features 2 tickets to the China Poblano concert afterparty.

Enrique Iglesias performs at the Boulevard Pool

8 p.m. at Boulevard Pool

One of the best-selling Spanish language artists of all time, Grammy award-winning Enrique Iglesias holds the record for producing 23 number-one Spanish language singles on Billboard’s Hot Latin Tracks. After his crossover hit “Bailamos” went to number one in 1999, Iglesias took North America by storm in 2001 with his album, Escape. The album’s first single, “Hero,” became an instant hit. Iglesias has continued to top the charts with songs like, “Do You Know? (The Pink Pong Song)” and “I Like It,” and is currently working on his tenth studio album.

Mariachi El Bronx

10 p.m. and Midnight at Book & Stage

The Los Angeles based Mariachi El Bronx band brings a punk rock mariachi vibe to Book & Stage for two energy-filled sets.

Strolling Mariachis

All Day

Traditional mariachi performers and folkloric dancers will roam throughout the resort, entertaining guests and commencing the weekend’s festivities.

Midnight at The Chandelier

The Cosmopolitan will ring in the official Grito Mexicano – a cry of patriotism – through a ceremonial ringing of the bell and a toast at the resort’s centerpiece three-story bar, The Chandelier. Mariachis and dancers will surround The Chandelier and take the stage for an official performance to keep the weekend’s merriment thriving.
