More than 3,000 people came to The Venetian Las Vegas this weekend to tryout for Wheel of Fortune, television’s #1 game show (Pictured above: The Wheelmobile parked in front of The Venetian). The Wheelmobile, the show’s promotional vehicle, was parked outside The Venetian welcoming locals and tourists alike.
Participants vying to be potential contestants completed applications which were put into a drum. Names were randomly selected and applicants were invited to join the host and hostess on stage. They were asked to solve a puzzle as Wheel of Fortune staff looked for not only good puzzle-solving skills, but energy and enthusiasm for the game.
“The contestants were some of the best contestants we’ve seen all year,” Suzy Rosenberg, Executive Director of Promotions and Publicity, said. “They were interesting and knowledgeable about the show.”
FUN FACTS ABOUT THE WHEELMOBILE:
- Since its inception in 1999, the Wheelmobile has logged over 200,000 miles and has visited over 150 cities
- Over 600,000 Wheel of Fortune fans have attended Wheelmobile events
