Kid Rock released his 8th studio album, Born Free, in November 2010 which included an eclectic mix of guest appearances, including Martina McBride, Trace Adkins, Bob Seger, T.I., James Hetfield and more. The album, produced by legendary Rick Rubin, featured a mix of superstar musicians in addition to the artist collaborations.

Rick Rubin and Kid Rock, as friends, have spent many hours talking about their respective histories – starting in hip-hop, crossing into and creating new territories – as well as the need for a great new American classic rock record that challenges the field. Born Free is in part the result of those conversations – an album that is meant to be played from start to finish.

Kid Rock’s previous release, Rock ‘N Roll Jesus (2007), debuted at #1 and stayed on the charts for 100 weeks, becoming the biggest selling Rock album of 2008. His hit single “All Summer Long” reached #1 in eight countries and provided Kid Rock the opportunity to expand his huge touring base outside of America. He hosted the CMT Awards and has performed at events ranging from the Grammy awards, VMAs and EMAs to Hip Hop Honors and the CMAs. He has performed for and visited troops overseas numerous times, and remains one of entertainment’s most vocal supporters of our soldiers abroad. At the same time he has been expanding his philanthropic efforts through his own Kid Rock Foundation.
