Pop star Shakira was honored as The Latin Grammy Person of The Year at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on November 9, 2011 (Photo: © Erik Kabik/ RETNA/ www.erikkabik.com).
The 34-year-old “Hips Don’t Lie” singer received her award from Puerto Rican recording artist Marc Anthony. She is the youngest recipient of the Latin Grammy Person of The Year award. Shakira closed the show with a performance of “En Barranquilla me Quedo” to honor her home town.
