Rockers The Offspring with special guests Alkaline Trio and Street Dogs are set to perform at The Pearl Concert Theater inside the Palms Casino Resort on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 8:00 p.m.

The Offspring came together in 1984 when high school friends Dexter Holland and Greg Kriesel were inspired to start a rock band after attending a local punk rock concert. Joined later by the school’s custodian Noodles on guitar and Pete Parada on drums.

The band, originally called Manic Subsidal, released their debut album The Offspring in 1989 which sold more than 3,000 vinyl copies. Years of successful releases followed including Ignition (1992), Smash (1994) and Americana (1998). In 2000 the band made headlines when they decided to offer their newest album Conspiracy of One (2000) free of charge online prior to its release date. The Greatest Hits album was released in 2005 and brought together some of their most memorable songs such as “Pretty Fly (for a White Guy),” “Come Out and Play (Keep ‘Em Separated)” and “Defy You” from the 2001 Orange County soundtrack. Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace was released in 2008 and included the hit single “You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid.”

Alkaline Trio will be joining The Offspring for this appearance. Alkaline Trio is best known for their hit albums such as Goddamnit (1998), Maybe I’ll Catch Fire (2000), From Here to Infirmary (2001) and Crimson (2005). Most recently they released Agony & Irony which included songs such as “Calling All Skeletons,” “Help Me” and “I Found Away.”

This event is presented by Andrew Hewitt and Live Nation. The Pearl Box Office is open from noon – 7 p.m. daily. Doors will open at 7:00 p.m. and show time is 8:00 p.m. The Pearl is home to Miller Lite Live, presented by Cricket Wireless and sponsored by Citi; for more information on upcoming concerts, please call 702-942-6888.
