April 13, 2011 by

21st Annual AIDS Walk Las Vegas to benefit Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN).  The event will be held on April 17.  Many local celebrities will be participating.  Here’s the schedule:

Sunday, April 17, 2010

  • 8 a.m. – sign-in for teams and individuals
  • 9 a.m. – opening ceremony
  • 10:30 a.m. – AIDS Walk

People of all ages are encouraged to participate in the 21st Annual AIDS Walk Las Vegas. Registration is free but a donation of $50 per person is encouraged and includes an official AIDS Walk t-shirt. Participants may register as individuals, join an existing team, or start their own team. Participants’ fundraising efforts will make them eligible for dynamic incentives and prizes. In addition, the Penn & Teller Challenge promises to match all monetary funds raised by pledges that have joined their team. For additional information or to register for a team, visit www.afanlv.org.

Aid for AIDS of Nevada has led the AIDS Walk for over twenty years. Individual walkers and team numbers have grown significantly, sponsorships by local businesses and organizations continue to increase and public awareness rises with every year. In April 2010, more than 8,500 people walked, raising over $500,000. Teams represent some of the leading corporations and organizations in southern Nevada, and this year’s supporters and sponsors include QVegas, The Apothecary Shop, CDI Studios, Barefoot Wine, Rubio’s, Wells Fargo, Intuit, Vegas Seven, CBS Radio, Caesars Entertainment and much more.
