The Club at the Cannery Casino & Hotel welcomes B.J. Thomas on Saturday, October 16 at 8 p.m. With treasured classics such as “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head,” “Rock ‘n’ Roll Lullaby” and “Hooked on a Feeling” audiences will be sure to enjoy a night filled with timeless classics.
He has one of the most distinctive voices in American pop. Many of B.J.’s signature hits—the Oscar-winning “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head,” the million-selling “(Hey Won’t You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song” and his career-igniting cover of Hank Williams’ “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” have endured over time.
When B.J. signed with New York’s Scepter, where the roster also included Ronnie Milsap and Dionne Warwick, he was introduced to songwriter-producer Burt Bacharach. This lead to his performance of Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head for Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head” spent four weeks atop the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart and was the first #1 single of the entire decade of the ‘70s. It also earned an Academy Award for Best Original Song. The song has shown an amazing resilience—it was featured in Forrest Gump and it made the soundtracks for Clerks II, The In-Laws and Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle; and it appeared almost in its entirety during Spider-Man 2.
Tickets are just $21.95 and are available at Cannery’s sales counter located at the front desk. Tickets will also be available for purchase by calling (702) 507-5757 or (866) 999-4899 (toll free), or by visiting www.cannerycasinos.com.
