Touro University and American Heart Association Host Go Red for Women - CPR Anytime
March 2, 2010 by VegasNews.com
Almost 80 percent of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur at home and are witnessed by a family member or friend. Only 6.4 percent of sudden cardiac arrest victims survive because the majority of those witnessing the arrest are people who do not know how to perform CPR properly. In an effort to change these sobering statistics, the American Heart Association has developed the Family & Friends CPR Anytime Personal Learning Program bringing CPR training into the homes of families everywhere.
Health-conscious valley residents have the opportunity to learn CPR at the Go Red for Women- CPR Anytime event hosted by Touro University Nevada and the American Heart Association. The event will also feature a men’s cardiac health seminar, a women’s cardiac health seminar and various information booths. Touro University Nevada nursing students will offer blood pressure checks for attendees.
