Las Vegas Motor Speedway has a new broadcasting partner in Las Vegas. KDOX-AM 1280 will carry Performance Racing Network (PRN) and Motor Racing Network (MRN) NASCAR radio broadcasts in 2010.
KDOX-AM will air the Shelby American NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event and Sam’s Town 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race from LVMS during NASCAR Weekend.
“We are excited to welcome our new broadcasting partner to LVMS,” said LVMS president Chris Powell. “We look forward to working with KDOX to promote NASCAR racing and Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Southern Nevada.”
KDOX-AM (www.foxnews1280.com) is owned by Summit Media Broadcasting and is a FOX News affiliate. Weekday broadcasting includes shows hosted by Laura Ingraham, Bill Bennett and Michael Medved.
“The reason we chose it is because NASCAR is the biggest spectator sport in the country,” said Scott Gentry, president and GM of Summit Media Broadcasting. “It’s exciting and Las Vegas Motor Speedway is a big part of Las Vegas. We carry talk programming all week. It gives people a reason to come to us on the weekends for something exciting. It’s a lifestyle thing. We found talk radio listeners listen to talk during the week and sports on the weekend. This is a great addition to our line-up. We’re really excited about it because we’ve always wanted to be a part of the racing scene in Las Vegas.”
As part of its NASCAR programming format, KDOX will run promotions and ticket contests.
Tickets for the Feb. 28 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Shelby American, Feb. 27 NASCAR Nationwide Series Sam’s Town 300 and fabulous Neon Garage fan experience may be purchased by calling LVMS Ticket Services at (702) 644-4444 or online at www.LVMS.com.
