Rock in the New Year with Sha Na Na at the Cannery Casino & Hotel

December 1, 2008 by

The Cannery Casino & Hotel kicks off the New Year with a celebration of music and memories with a New Year’s Eve concert by Sha Na Na. The band will entertain guests with classic rock ‘n’ roll music and will lead the crowd in counting down the final seconds of 2008. The festivities will be held at The Club inside the Cannery Casino & Hotel on Wednesday, December 31 with performances at 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Tickets to the event are being offered in a special dinner and a show package. Each package deal includes dinner at one of the Cannery’s fine restaurants, a ticket to the concert and complimentary champagne cocktail at the show. The package prices are as follows:

  • $109.00 per person for Gold Circle seating and dinner at Waverly’s Steakhouse.
  • $79.99 per person for Prime seating and dinner at Vino’s Italian Restaurant.
  • $59.99 per person for Reserved seating and dinner at the Gourmet Buffet.

The prices do not include applicable taxes, gratuities and fees. Tickets are not available for purchase outside the package deal. Waverly’s Steakhouse and Vino’s Italian Restaurant dinners are four-course pre-fixed menus, including pre-selected wine or champagne.

Sha Na Na may not have invented rock nostalgia, but the group has successfully celebrated the music and the memories for the past three decades in concert, in movies and television and on records. Sha Na Na’s story is an all-encompassing one as they were in the original Woodstock Festival, hosted the “Sha Na Na” TV series for four years, released more than 25 albums with worldwide sales of more than 20 million and still play more than 100 concerts a year worldwide. The group was even featured in the film “Grease” playing the band “Johnny Casino and the Gamblers.” Band member “Screamin’” Scott co-wrote the film’s memorable love song “Sandy” sung by John Travolta. Through it all, Sha Na Na remains true to the original concept: rock ‘n’ roll is here to stay!
