Cannery Casino Hotel Las Vegas Hosts “End of Summer Concert” Sept. 9 with The Surfaris, Eddie Holman, 1910 Fruitgum Company and La La Brooks
The Surfaris, Eddie Holman, 1910 Fruitgum Company and Original Lead Singer of The Crystals La La Brooks will each bring their top hits to the End of Summer Concert at Cannery Casino Hotel’s The Club on Saturday, Sept. 9. (Pictured: The Surfaris).
Best known for their hit song “Wipe Out,” The Surfaris formed in 1962 as an instrumental surf rock band. In 1962, the band released their No. 2 hit “Wipe Out,” which went on to become one of the greatest rock instrumentals of the period. With the release of hits like “Surfer Joe” and “Pipeline,” The Surfaris enjoyed international fame, performing around the world during the surf music craze. The band’s current lineup includes Original Band Member and Founder Bob Berryhill.
Eddie Holman to perform at Cannery Casino Hotel Las Vegas in “End of Summer Concert” Sept. 9
Eddie Holman began his musical career in the early 1960s, winning over fans with his smooth, falsetto vocals and soulful hits. Throughout his career, Holman has released several top singles, including his No. 2 hit “Hey There Lonely Girl,” and the songs “Don’t Stop Now/Since I Don’t Have You,” “This Can’t Be True” and “This Will Be a Night to Remember.” Holman continues to perform his classic R&B hits around the U.S. and the world.
Bubblegum pop band 1910 Fruitgum Company gained major popularity with the release of their top hits “Simon Says” and “1-2-3 Red Light,” which each sold more than one million copies. They also released the chart-topping singles “May I Take a Giant Step,” “Yummy Yummy Yummy” and “Special Delivery.” Most recently, the band released a new record, that includes their top songs re-recorded. The group’s current lineup includes original founders Frank Jeckell and Mick Mansueto, along with Bob Brescia, Glenn Lewis and Keith Crane.
La La Brooks started her career at the age of 13 as one of the original singers of The Crystals, one of the most iconic girl groups of the 1960s. Two years after joining the group, she became the lead singer, releasing her first top five hit “Da Doo Ron Ron.” The Crystals later released the top single “Then He Kissed Me,” which became one of the greatest hits of the ‘60s. Brooks went on to pursue a solo career, and now performs her greatest hits with her own musical group.
