Comedy Central’s ‘The Roastmaster General’ Jeff Ross made an appearance to wish Cohen happy birthday along with Las Vegas headliner Carrot Top and ‘Pin Up’ star Claire Sinclair. Invited guests were greeted by circus-inspired live acts including contortionists and extreme stunt variety performances for an evening filled with equal parts class and chaos. Emmy award-nominated DJ Cory Live! moved the crowd with an electrifying soundtrack as partygoers enjoyed live entertainment including lipstick readings by Joan Dukore, balloon art and photo opportunities with ‘Bob the Mermaid’, one of the world’s tallest men, a bearded lady and more.

“10 years ago on his birthday, my business partner Eric Cohen and I left our corporate jobs and started The Calida Group at an extremely difficult time in the marketplace,” said Co-Founder and Managing Director Douglas Eisner. “Today, The Calida Group is one of the largest community builders in the state but we could not have done it alone. In honor of this town and the people that have continued to support us, we decided it was time to give back to the city that has given us so much.”

Rather than accepting birthday or anniversary gifts of any kind, Cohen and Eisner asked guests, colleagues, family and friends to log onto www.elysianlivingfoundation.com and sign up to participate in giving back to the local Las Vegas community. The first of its kind, the Elysian Living Foundation harnesses the power of collective action with 50 percent of all funds benefiting Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas. The remaining half of funds are completely participant-directed, allowing anyone who signs up the ability to raise money for a cause that is important to them. The Calida Group covers all administrative and operations costs so 100 percent of every dollar goes directly to charity.
