Melissa Rycroft & Tye Strickland Bachelor/Bachelorette Weekend at The Palazzo and The Venetian

The adorable Melissa Rycroft and her fiancé Tye Strickland spent the weekend at The Palazzo Las Vegas celebrating their joint bachelor/bachelorette parties before their BIG day (Photo credit: Denise Truscello)Melissa and Tye were joined by their wedding party to help celebrate Vegas-style. The group checked in to their spacious suites at The Palazzo VIP Lounge. Melissa and Tye stayed in a luxurious Siena suite.

Melissa had been without her engagement ring for a few days while she and Tye’s wedding bands were being designed by Simon G Jewelry. During check-in she was surprised with her engagement ring that was sent to The Palazzo. Melissa couldn’t wait to slip her ring back on her finger. She was laughing as she showed her friends the fake engagement ring she had been wearing in place of her actual engagement ring. She said she felt naked without her ring and was so excited to have it back!

To start the bachelor/bachelorette weekend, Melissa, Tye and their friends took in Broadway shows at The Palazzo and The Venetian. Melissa and the girls experienced the musical phenomenon Jersey Boys while Tye and the guys saw the lavish production of Phantom – Las Vegas Spectacular. Phantom is one of Tye’s favorite shows in Vegas. Tye said the only thing he requested to do while they were in Vegas was to see Phantom. He was even more thrilled when he was invited backstage for a private meet and greet where he met the Phantom and Christine.

Following the Phantom meet and greet, Tye couldn’t stand to be without his fiancé for another moment and surprised Melissa backstage at Jersey Boys while they enjoyed a private meet and greet with the cast. Tye kept kissing, hugging and picking Melissa up – they are absolutely in love! Melissa and Tye started dancing as they sang “Sherry Baby” and “Big Girls Don’t Cry”.

Melissa said she and her girls were the row in the audience that was singing and dancing along with the performance throughout the entire show! Melissa was dolled up in a form fitting black shiny dress while Tye looked handsome in a pair of jeans and plaid button down shirt.

After the meet and greet, Tye and his guys stopped off at the new Latin-inspired casino bar, Fusion at The Palazzo for a cocktail before heading to TAO.

Melissa and Tye parted their ways again for the night as Melissa celebrated her bachelorette party with a girls only get together at LAVO at The Palazzo while Tye and the guys headed to TAO at The Venetian. The bride-to-be arrived at the Italian hot spot and awaiting her in the private dining room were goodies including a sash, big flashing ring and a crown and party favors for her entire group.

The girls dined on favorites from the restaurant before heading to the second floor nightclub where they took over a table on the dance floor. Melissa and friends danced on the banquette and went into a frenzy when Beyonce’s Single Ladies was played. The bachelorette beamed the entire night and posed for fun photos with her friends and fans.

Over at TAO, Melissa’s fiancé Tye Strickland was enjoying his own guys night. The bachelor party began with dinner at the Asian Bistro where the group enjoyed a feast of signature dishes including Lobster Wontons, Satay Bass, Steak and Fried Rice. Grey Goose and Red Bull cocktails helped them fuel up for the night ahead. After dinner their destination was a VIP table in the moat section of the nightclub where they drank Jack Daniels and Coors Light, staying practically until the club closed.

On Saturday, the bachelor/bachelorette festivities began with a friendly poker tournament at The Venetian Poker Room where the girls played against the guys. Tye sat at the girls table for a moment trying to help his fiancé take the pot. Melissa and Tye were surprised at the tournament with cupcakes from Sweet Surrender, the specialty cupcake and gourmet candy store located at The Palazzo. Melissa and Tye ended up making a stop at Sweet Surrender to grab a Red Velvet cupcake, which is Melissa’s favorite. Tye said he is a fan of anything with coconut. They were very playful and Melissa tried to push a cupcake in Tye’s face, but wasn’t quite successful.

Melissa and Tye decided to take some time to themselves to enjoy a romantic gondola ride at The Venetian. They were absolutely in love as they floated down the Grand Canal in an authentic gondola ride as the gondolier serenaded them. Melissa and Tye were cuddling and in love in the gondola ride giving each other sweet kisses. Tye said being with Melissa has been the happiest he has ever been.

Melissa met up with the girls at the world-famous Canyon Ranch SpaClub where they relaxed and rejuvenated with manis/pedis. They had a great time choosing the different nail polish color to match their outfits for the night.

While the girls were being pampered at Canyon Ranch SpaClub, Tye and the guys headed to the ultimate sports bar and sportsbook, Lagasse’s Stadium at The Palazzo to get some guy time in. Tye and his friends hung out and lounged in a private Sky Box, enjoyed game day cuisine by Emeril Lagasse, watched sports and cheered on their favorite teams. They ordered buckets of beers and ate Cheeseburgers, Chicken Nachos, Pesto Pizza, Wings, Barbeque Pork Sandwiches and cookies.

Later in the evening, Melissa and Tye along with all their friends met up for authentic Mexican fare for a celebratory dinner at Dos Caminos Mexican Kitchen and Lounge at The Palazzo. The large group dined family style on dishes including the famed Guacamole, Queso Fundido, Empanadas, Skirt Steak, Enchiladas and Shrimp Quesadillas. Pitchers of Margaritas and Sangria kept the group in a festive mood. For the finale the chefs presented an array of dessert platters, with one special dish that read, “Congratulations Melissa and Tye!”. The affectionate couple fed each other dessert and were spotted sneaking kisses and hugs throughout dinner.

Following dinner, the group made their way to the Dueling Pianos at Salute Lounge at The Palazzo to enjoy some live entertainment. Tye requested “Brown Eyed Girl” for his beautiful brown eyed fiancé. The group began to clap and sing along to the chorus as Tye and Melissa hugged and kissed each other.

The duel bachelor/bachelorette night would not be complete without seeing a show, so Melissa, Tye and the wedding party experienced the wildly outrageous Blue Man Group at The Venetian. After the show, the group went backstage for a private meet and greet with the cast. The Blue Man Group performers joked around with the group.

Melissa and Tye brought all their friends to one of their favorite restaurant/lounges at The Palazzo, FIRST Food & Bar for some late-night cravings and after-hours fun. The group sat in the lounge area overlooking The Strip where they enjoyed a private table and bottle service. Melissa and Tye goofed off inside the FIRST photo booth. The group toasted to Melissa and Tye, congratulated them and wished them both the best!
