Why the entertainment scene in Vegas is one of the best in the world

January 10, 2017 by

When it comes to entertainment, there are many places that offer big name performers and shows that people travel across the world to see. Las Vegas is easily one of the best destinations when it comes to entertainment, and anyone looking to combine a fantastic holiday with the chance to see a favorite performer or a world-class show should make this a must-see destination.

Britney Spears remains one of the biggest names in pop music and her Vegas show is running through to May 2017. Elton John is also lining up in Vegas at the start of the year, with performances in January and February. Rod Stewart, Jennifer Lopez and Celine Dion will also be performing in the city in the first half of 2017, which is a massive reason for people to flock to the area.

These are some of the biggest names in entertainment, who are performing less and less around the world. Also, when some of these acts do perform, they play in arenas and stadiums, making it difficult to see them or feel as though there is a connection between the artist and audience. In Vegas, these acts play more intimate shows, creating memorable performances that people cherish.

There are also seven different Cirque Du Soleil shows scheduled for Vegas in 2017, including performances based on the music of The Beatles and Michael Jackson.

Vegas has a long-held reputation

Of course, the reputation that Vegas holds for entertainment isn’t a new thing: this is a city that has long been linked with the biggest names and acts in show business. The link between Vegas and massive shows dates all the way back to 1944, when Liberace launched his show there, while Frank Sinatra packed out Vegas venues from 1951. The city was synonymous with the Rat Pack, while for many other music fans, Vegas is intrinsically linked with Elvis, who performed there from 1969. Wayne Newton is another singer whose name is readily associated with Vegas, while double acts such as Siegfried & Roy and Penn & Teller wowed audiences in their own inimitable style.

These acts all performed in Las Vegas when they were at the peak of their power or popularity, causing the entire world to shift their focus to the city.

Vegas has a lot to offer

One thing that may surprise people about the entertainment scene in Vegas is how wide and varied it genuinely is. Big name music acts and stunning musical shows have long been associated with the area, but these are just some of the great ways people can enjoy their time in the area. There are comedy shows, Broadway shows, major performances such as the Cirque Du Soleil shows, hypnosis acts, magic performances, events aimed at the adult market and a wide range of activities and performances that have been created with kids and families in mind. There is also a whole brand of Elvis impersonator shows to choose from for people who want to take a step back in time to what many people consider to be the classic era of Vegas.

The fact that there is a strong focus on shows for people of all ages makes Vegas a fantastic place for families to visit, and families need great accommodation options.

Having a place to relax, unwind, chill out or make plans is just as important for travelers as having events or attractions to enjoy. With so many hotels in Vegas offering a fantastic place to stay, and be entertained within their complex, guests can enjoy the very best of both worlds.

Many people have worked hard to develop Vegas as a destination that doesn’t let people down, and choosing a resort or hotel that has a fantastic reputation makes sense. Stephen Wynn is one of the many names associated with Vegas and the success of the area, and with a chain of hotels in the city; it is possible to enjoy a fantastic trip in glorious yet relaxing surroundings.

Some people will have an opinion about Vegas that is informed by what they have read, but there is a great deal more to the city. Aside from the fantastic shows on offer, Vegas can be a brilliant hub for exploring. Attractions such as the Grand Canyon, the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead are all within easy reach of the leading resorts. There is the Mob Museum for people who want to learn about the seedy history of the resort and there are plenty of fantastic golf courses for people looking for a sporting outlet.

Whatever people are looking for from Vegas, there is no denying that the entertainment scene is second to none.
