LSSN Continues Thanksgiving Food Basket Program on Nov. 20
November 14, 2009 by VegasNews.com
In partnership with the Housing Authority of the City of Las Vegas, Lutheran Social Services of Nevada will be distributing 100 turkeys and Thanksgiving food baskets to low income families. The event will be held on Friday, November 20th at 11:00 am at the Vera Johnson “B” playground located at 527 Lamb #1.
LSSN would like to thank Community Lutheran Church for their food donations, along with all the individuals that participated in our collection. Without their support, this event would not be possible.
Lutheran Social Services of Nevada was founded to address the growing needs of people seeking emergency food, housing and employment assistance in Nevada regardless of religious affiliation, age, or national origin. The agency recognizes 12 years as a major hunger-relief organization working to end food insecurity and increase access to nutritious food, housing, and employment services for homeless, low, and moderate income individuals. Since 1997, the agency has provided assistance to over 125,000 Nevadans in need – homeless families with dependent children, refugees, and immigrants, troubled youths, and families in crisis, seniors and homeless individuals.
