The Lion Habitat Ranch Celebrates World Lion Day

The Lion Habitat Ranch Celebrates World Lion Day
Local non-profit, Lion Habitat Ranch, offers free admission for kids under 15 August 5-8, 2016 in honor of World Lion Day celebrated on August 10.

Accredited by the Zoological Association of America, The Lion Habitat Ranch, has been located in Henderson for more than 26 years and is the home to more than 40 lions and also to Ozzie, the first giraffe in Nevada. Many of the lions are retired from the MGM Grand Habitat and rescued from local and national zoos.

Additional adventures at the Lion Habitat Ranch include Feast with the Beast, Original Painting by the Giraffe, Be a Trainer for the Day, Behind the Scenes Tours and feeding of the animals.

In addition to advocating for education about African lions in our community, The Lion Habitat Ranch support the efforts of Conservation International in Kenya. While its loved lions are able to live out their lives in the comfort of their own habitat and around the pride and people they grew up with, most lions in the wild face a much sadder fate. The donation to the non-profit as well as cannedlion.org helps to keep this project alive, protect African lions and their natural habitats.
