Leadership Henderson to Enter Tenth Year
October 6, 2009 by VegasNews.com
The Henderson Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Leadership Henderson program will enter its tenth year this fall.
Since its inception Leadership Henderson has graduated over 150 leaders into the community from its program, which devotes itself to strengthening and educating community leaders by providing participants with in-depth insights into a variety of issues impacting residents of Henderson and Southern Nevada.
Ruby Warthan, group benefits broker for Orgill Singer& Associates and graduate of the program, will serve as the 2009-10 steering committee chairperson of Leadership Henderson. Sean Fellows, of Carrara Nevada, will serve as the program's co-chairperson.
“Ruby’s past experience, knowledge of the community and this program have been instrumental in our continued success since the program’s inception,” said Rebecca Fay, administrator of the foundation, which operates the Leadership Henderson program under its umbrella. “Under her leadership our entire committee has helped increase support and interest for this professional development program in already a short time despite the market downturn.”
Chosen through a selective application and interview process, the participants in the program will study such issues as the history of the Henderson community, quality of life, infrastructure, government, business and gaming, health/human services and other areas vital to the continued growth and development for the city of Henderson.
