“As one of Southern Nevada’s largest employers and the second-largest gaming company in the world, the financial health and future of MGM Mirage is essential to the recovery and continued well-being of our economy,” said Pamela Ring, president, Ring Retail Advisory and president of TMA Nevada. “We are honored to have Alan Feldman as a representative of a company that represents the strength of Las Vegas’ future.”

It is anticipated that Feldman will discuss MGM Mirage’s $8.5 billion City Center, which is considered to be the most expensive privately financed project in United States. Scheduled to begin opening in phases late 2009, the financing for the project faced challenges. MGM Mirage was able to assuage fears on April 29, 2009 when it announced that it agreed to guarantee City Center’s funding.

“Las Vegas breathed a collective sigh of relief when MGM Mirage announced that they had the financing in place to finish City Center. What a great story and great organization to kick off our series on how Nevada companies are overcoming financial challenges in these times,” said Bill Granda, regional director of Paradigm Associates LLC, TMA Nevada board member and chairperson for the October 1 program. “Our thanks to Alan Feldman and MGM Mirage for sharing their story.”

As senior vice president of Public Affairs for MGM Mirage, Feldman oversees the planning and implementation of the company’s corporate and marketing communications efforts as well as its government relations programs.

The Turnaround Management Association of Nevada (TMA Nevada) is a member of the nationally chartered Turnaround Management Association (TMA), the only international, non-profit association dedicated to corporate renewal and turnaround management.
